In NACE MR0175, when is a “qualification” required?

Table A.2 and Paragraph A.2.1

The answer is that Table A.2 gives examples of materials that can be qualified as long as they comply with Paragraph A.2.1. However, if a material is not listed in Table A.2, it must be assessed according to the requirements in Annex A, as explained in Paragraph 7 of Part 1.

User Responsibility

The decision to further qualify a material through testing or field experience is up to the equipment user, as explained in Paragraph 8 of Part 1.
