For Hardness (vickers HV), What is NACE MR0175 retesting criteria?

Acceptability of Additional Indentations and Measurements on Weld Test Coupon

This webpage discusses the acceptability of making additional indentations and measurements to the same area as the suspect indentation on a weld test coupon which failed the micro hardness test. While NACE MR0175 Part 2 Section 7.3 “”Hardness”” paragraph 7.3.2 allows additional hardness readings in the adjacent areas of a failed reading for parent materials, the standard doesn’t specifically mention the same methodology for welds.

Maximum Acceptable Hardness Values for Welds

For carbon steel, carbon-manganese steel, and low-alloy steel welds, no individual readings above the maximum acceptable hardness values specified in Table A.1 are acceptable. This question pertains to NACE MR0175 Section 7.3.3 Welds.
