Chloride Limits for UNS S31600 and UNS S31603

Question:

What are the chloride limits for UNS S31600 and UNS S31603?

Answer:

The chloride column is marked as “”see remark”” in Table A.2 of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-3. Any combination of chloride concentration and in situ pH occurring in production is acceptable. For example, Table A.2 indicates that S31600 can resist 5,000 mg/h chloride concentration. It is important to understand that these figures may vary based on service conditions, such as temperature and H₂S partial pressure. It is recommended to contact a metallurgist or consultant for clarification on how to interpret and apply the figures in Table A.2.
