Meet Mark, Mechanical Engineer at OGC Energy!

Mark joined the OGC Energy team in 2021, starting as an intern and quickly becoming a permanent member of the team. With a background in mechanical engineering, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, providing support across the business with a focus on stress analysis and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

As a key member of the team, Mark’s main role at OGC Energy is ensuring that clients’ assets are safe and fit for purpose. Mark’s expertise in a variety of BPV codes, including ASME, DNV, ISO, and EN, and his understanding of fitness for service codes such as API 579 and BS EN 8701, make him a valuable asset to the team.

Not only is Mark knowledgeable in stress analysis, both numerical and simulation, with experience using ANSYS, ABAQUS, and Salome_Meca, but he is also dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the energy transition. As the lead of the DECIDE project, Mark is working with academics to bridge the knowledge gap in CCS and is also actively involved in our hydrogen and wind energy projects, playing a key role in helping the UK reach net zero.

With his enthusiasm for mechanical design and commitment to keeping up with the latest developments in the field, Mark is helping OGC Energy make a positive impact on the energy transition.
